Part 3 - Line 4a
PATIENT SUPPORT:TRANSPLANT VILLAGE'S MONTHLY DONOR CHAMPION PROGRAM (DCP), IS A 90 MINUTE INTERACTIVE ZOOM WORKSHOP WHERE MEMBERS OF TRANSPLANT VILLAGE TEACH THE BASICS OF KIDNEY AND LIVER DONATION TO INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE IN NEED OF A KIDNEY OR LIVER TRANSPLANT. WE TEACH PROVEN METHODS THAT HELP KIDNEY AND LIVER PATIENTS, AND THEIR ADVOCATES LEVERAGE THEIR SOCIAL NETWORKS TO FIND A LIVING DONOR. OUR BUDDY PROGRAM PROVIDES A BUDDY WHO ACTS AS A GUIDE TO PATIENTS, DONORS, CAREGIVERS AND ADVOCATES WHO ARE NAVIGATING THE TRANSPLANT EXPERIENCE. WE OFFER SUPPORT AND NON-MEDICAL ADVICE THROUGH OUR BUDDY PROGRAM. LASTLY, WE HAVE A PATIENT SUPPORT FUND AND LIVING DONOR SUPPORT FUND. THESE FUNDS ARE HELD BY NORTHWESTERN MEDICINE, AND ARE USED TO HELP PATIENTS AND DONORS WITH FINANCIAL BURDENS ASSOCIATED WITH THE TRANSPLANT AND DONATION EXPERIENCES.
PARTNERS IN GIVING:WE ARE COMPELLED TO DO OUR PART TO ASSURE THAT NORTHWESTERN'S COMPREHENSIVE TRANSPLANT CENTER (CTC) LEADS THE NATION THROUGH ITS GROUNDBREAKING ORGAN TRANSPLANT RESEARCH. OUR COMMITMENT IS TO LEAD THE EFFORTS BY PROVIDING ENDOWMENT FUNDS WHICH WILL ALLOW THE CTC TO SUSTAIN ITS' EXCELLENCE FOR GENERATIONS TO COME. THE RESOURCES ALLOCATED TO THE TRANSPLANT INNOVATION FUND ARE FOR THE HIGH RISK, YET HIGH REWARD INITIATIVES THAT HAVE HISTORICALLY BEEN VERY EFFECTIVE AND SUCCESSFUL IN IMPROVING PATIENT OUTCOMES.THE CTC IS VERY SUCCESSFUL IN LEVERAGING ITS' PHILANTHROPIC SUPPORT BY MORE THAN A FACTOR OF 8 THROUGH THE RECEIPT OF OTHER FUNDS, GRANTS, AND MATCHING GIFTS. WE HAVE ACCEPTED THE CHALLENGE TO GUARANTEE THIS SEED FUNDING REMAINS SUSTAINABLE FOR YEARS TO COME.THE LEGACY WE LEAVE AS BENEFICIARIES OF THE COMPREHENSIVE TRANSPLANT CENTER IS THE ASSURANCE THAT THE CTC WILL REACH THE PINNACLE OF SUCCESS AND BE RECOGNIZED AS THE MOST HIGHLY RESPECTED TRANSPLANT CENTER IN THE COUNTRY. THROUGH THESE EFFORTS, WE WILL ATTRACT THE BEST AND BRIGHTEST CLINICIANS, SURGEONS, AND RESEARCHERS.TRANSPLANT VILLAGE IS UNIQUE. WE HAVE BROUGHT TOGETHER THE CONSTITUENCIES OF THE PATIENT, THE NORTHWESTERN MEMORIAL FOUNDATION, NORTHWESTERN MEDICINE, AND THE CTC. WE REMAIN UNITED, AND WE WORK IN PARTNERSHIP FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE TRANSPLANT PATIENT.NOTE THAT MONEY THAT IS FUNDRAISED IS DONATED TO NORTHWESTERN MEDICINE, NOT TO TRANSPLANT VILLAGE
ABUNDANT DOCUMENTARY:ABUNDANT IS A FEATURE-LENGTH DOCUMENTARY FILM ABOUT THE COMPLEX, HUMAN EXPERIENCE OF GIVING. TO FULLY UNDERSTAND GIVING, ABUNDANT ENTERS THE WORLD OF EXTREME ALTRUISM. AND THERE ARE NO MORE EXTREME ALTRUISTS THAN NON-DIRECTED LIVING KIDNEY DONORS. THESE RARE INDIVIDUALS GIVE A KIDNEY AWAY TO A COMPLETE STRANGER. TRANSPLANT VILLAGE IS FINANCIALLY SUPPORTING THE CREATION OF ABUNDANT BECAUSE WE BELIEVE THAT THIS TYPE OF EDUCATION TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC AT LARGE IS INTEGRAL IF WE WANT MORE PEOPLE TO STEP FORWARD AS DONORS. FURTHERMORE, 3 LIVING DONORS FROM TRANSPLANT VILLAGE WILL BE FEATURED IN THIS MOVIE.ABUNDANT FEATURES TRUE STORIES OF NON-DIRECTED KIDNEY DONORS RECORDED LIVE ON STAGE AT THE PERFORMANCE ART SHOW CROWDSOURCE FOR LIFE. THEIR STORIES ILLUSTRATE THE UNIMAGINABLE IMPACT OF EXTREME GIVING. INSIGHTS FROM EXPERTS FROM THE WORLDS OF ECONOMICS, SPIRITUALITY, BUSINESS, THE ARTS, PSYCHOLOGY AND NEUROSCIENCE, FRAME AND EXPLAIN THE ALTRUISTIC PSYCHE. THROUGH STORIES, COMMENTARY AND EXPERIENCES, ABUNDANT EXPLORES HOW OUR CULTURE STRUGGLES WITH ABUNDANCE AND WHAT WE CAN DO TO BECOME MORE ALTRUISTIC AS A COMMUNITY. ABUNDANT WILL BE RELEASED IN 2025, AND TRANSPLANT VILLAGE WILL BE HELPING TO SUPPORT THOSE WHO STEP FORWARD AFTER WATCHING THE MOVIE, INSPIRED TO LEARN MORE ABOUT LIVING DONATION. MONEY RAISED FOR THIS INITIATIVE WAS DONATED TO MAITRI RIVER PRODUCTIONS, THE PRODUCTION COMPANY PRODUCING THE FILM.
