THE FOUNDATION WAS ESTABLISHED TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO THOSE EMPLOYEES (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O) OF BENCHMARK ELECTRONICS, INC. WHO INCUR EXTRAORDINARY EXPENSES, DAMAGES OR LOSSES AS THE RESULT OF DISASTERS OR OTHER EMERGENCY SITUATIONS, PRIMARILY THROUGH CONTRIBUTIONS FROM BENCHMARK ELECTRONICS, INC. EMPLOYEES AND BENCHMARK ELECTRONICS, INC.

RELIEF AID IS GIVEN TO EMPLOYEES OF BENCHMARK ELECTRONICS, INC. WHO HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY NATURAL OR CIVIL DISASTERS SUCH AS EARTHQUAKES, HURRICANES, FLOODS, TORNADOES, AND WILDFIRES OR WHO HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY SERIOUS ILLNESS, INJURY, UNDUE HARDSHIP, VIOLENT CRIME, OR THE DEATH OF A FAMILY MEMBER. IN 2018, WE WERE ABLE TO HELP 3 INDIVIDUALS AND THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH THE MOST DIFFICULT OF CIRCUMSTANCES.


THE ORGANIZATION EXTENDS ITS IMPACT INTO THE COMMUNITY BY MAKING GRANTS TO 501(C)(3) PUBLIC CHARITIES EXPERIENCED IN PROVIDING RELIEF TO THE POOR OR DISTRESSED, PROVIDING LOCAL COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE, ASSISTING UNDER-PRIVILEGED YOUTH, COMBATING COMMUNITY DETERIORATION, OR THAT OTHERWISE PROMOTE SOCIAL WELFARE. THIS YEAR, WE CHOSE TO SUPPORT MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION OF ARIZONA, WHICH RELIEVES THE DISTRESS OF CRITICALLY ILL CHILDREN BY ENRICHING THEIR EXPERIENCE WITH HOPE, STRENGTH AND JOY. THIS YEAR, WE ALSO DONATED TO THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA, GRAND CANYON COUNCIL AND THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF THE EAST VALLEY.
