ANTI-RECIDIVISM, ULON WORKS WITH EX-OFFENDERS TO BUILD A STATE OF MIND THAT CAN LEAD TO SUCCESS. ULON STARTS TO PERSONAL ASSESSMENTS OF A CLIENT'S HISTORY INCLUDING EDUCATION, WORK HISTORY, AS WELL CLIENT'S INTERACTION WITH THE POLICE, JUSTICE SYSTEM, INCARCERATION, PROBATION AND RELEASE. FROM THESE HISTORIES ULON BUILDS AN ASSESSMENT OF STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES AND DEVELOPS A PERSONALIZED PLAN OF ACTION FOR EACH CLIENT. WITH THESE PLANS OF ACTION IN PLACE, ULON ASSISTS ITS CLIENTS IN BUILDING THEIR LIFE AND WORK SKILLS THROUGH ITS COMPUTER-BASED SKILLS TRAINING AND REFERRALS TO ITS PARTNER COMMUNITY SERVICE ORGANIZATION FOR MORE SPECIALIZED TRAINING FOR SPECIFICALLY IDENTIFIED JOB OPPORTUNITIES. UPON COMPLETION OF ULON'S PLAN OF ACTION FOR A CLIENT, ULON WILL HELP EACH CLIENT BUILD A PROFESSIONAL RESUME, AND WORK WITH THEIR CLIENTS TO INTRODUCE THEM TO ULON'S PARTNER AGENCIES THAT ALSO WORK WITH FORMER OFFENDERS. COMPUTER-BASED JOB SKILLS TRAINING, ULON ASSESSES PARTICIPANTS CURRENT SKILLS THROUGH IN-TAKE TESTING, THEN PROVIDES A CURATED ONLINE LESSON PLAN DURING WHICH INSTRUCTOR IS AVAILABLE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS, AND COACH THE PARTICIPANT TO A LEVEL OF PROFICIENCY FOR EACH SKILL. WHEN THE PARTICIPANT ACHIEVES THE SKILL LEVEL THAT IS EXPECTED IN THE JOB MARKET, ULON CERTIFIES THEIR PROFICIENCY AND THEN REFERS THE PARTICIPANT TO ONE OF ULON PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS WHO SPECIALIZE IN JOB OPPORTUNITY FOR THE RESPECTIVE SKILL. AFTER-SCHOOL HOMEWORK RESOURCES, THROUGH ITS COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMS ULON ENTICES THE NEIGHBORHOOD YOUNG PEOPLE TO COME INTO THE RESOURCE CENTER; GETTING THEM OFF THE STREETS, WITH THE COMPUTER AND INTERNET ACCESS INCENTIVE, WHICH IS ESPECIALLY ATTRACTIVE WHO DO NOT HAVE REGULAR ACCESS TO THESE LEARNING TOOLS. ULON PROVIDES A FACILITATOR TO HELP WITH QUESTIONS, AS WELL AS WATER, JUICE AND HEALTHY SNACKS. LIFE SKILLS EDUCATION COURSES, ULON PROVIDES COURSES THAT PROVIDE CLIENTS WITH AN UNDERSTANDING OF PARENTING SKILLS, FAMILY CONFLICT RESOLUTION, ETIQUETTE AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS, CREATION OF A FAMILY BUDGET, BALANCING A CHECKBOOK, BASIC BANKING EXPECTATIONS, ALONG WITH INTRODUCTION TO HEALTHY FOOD SELECTION AND PREPARATION. COMMUNITY SERVICE- ULON PROVIDES SERVICES FOR SEVERAL CHICAGO NEIGHBORHOOD COMMUNITIES THROUGH GRAFFITI REMOVAL AND GENERAL CLEANING COMMUNITY CAMPAIGNS.
