OUR ORGANIZATION SUPPORTED THE DECATUR CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL (DCHS) SHOW CHOIRS ACCORDING TO OUR STATED PURPOSE. WE SUPPORTED 3 SHOW CHOIRS: NEW DIRECTION (MIXED MEN'S AND WOMEN'S SHOW CHOIR), EXPRESSIONS (ALL WOMEN'S SHOW CHOIR), AND GOLDENAIRES (MIXED MEN'S AND WOMEN'S SHOW CHOIR). IN ADDITION TO THE SHOW CHOIRS, WE ALSO SUPPORTED STUDENT STAGE CREW MEMBERS AND STUDENT SHOW CHOIR BAND MEMBERS. WE SERVED 112 STUDENTS WHICH WAS AN INCREASE OF 12 STUDENTS OVER THE PREVIOUS SCHOOL YEAR. THE SHOW CHOIRS HAD 25 PERFORMANCES THIS YEAR. THE EXPRESSIONS QUALIFIED FOR THE ISSMA STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS (THE FIRST EVER FROM DECATUR CENTRAL TO DO SO.).MANY OF OUR STUDENTS PERFORMED IN THE FALL SCHOOL MUSICAL AS WELL. THE YEAR CULMINATED WITH OUR ANNUAL SENIOR NIGHT, HONORING SENIOR MEMBERS AND VARIOUS STUDENT AWARDS FOR BOTH SHOW CHOIRS. OUR ORGANIZATION FINANCIALLY SUPPORTS BOTH SHOW CHOIRS BY PAYING FOR COMPETITION FEES, SET AND PROPS, COSTUMES, MUSIC ARRANGEMENTS, CHOREOGRAPHERS, STUDENT AWARDS, AND MUCH MORE. OUR ORGANIZATION PROVIDED MANY VOLUNTEER HOURS TO BUILD SETS, ALTER COSTUMES, CLEAN COSTUME PIECES, RUN CONCESSIONS AT SCHOOL PERFORMANCES, PLAN AND FACILITATE ALL FUNDRAISING EFFORTS, PROVIDE CHAPERONES, SET UP SOCIAL GATHERINGS, PLAN AND PREPARE GIFTS FOR GRADUATING SENIORS, AND PROVIDE SUPPORT TO THE CHOIR DIRECTOR AND ACCOMPANIST. WE ALSO HOSTED OUR FIRST EVER SHOW CHOIR COMPETITION. IT WAS A VERY BUSY YEAR FOR THE DCHS SHOW CHOIRS INC.
