WE PROVIDE DIABETES EDUCATION TO INDIVIDUALS AND THE COMMUNITY, MEDICATION MANAGEMENT, A MENTORING PROGRAM FOR YOUTH WITH DIABETES AND A NON-PROFIT PHARMACY.

1 PHARMACY: MAINTAINED A FUNCTIONING PHARMACY WHICH SERVED CLIENTS WITH DIABETES, FILLING PRESCRIPTIONS, FILING FOR INSURANCE REIMBURSEMENT, EDUCATING PATIENTS ABOUT THE PROPER USE OF THEIR MEDICATIONS AND COORDINATING WITH PHYSICIANS OFFICES AS NEEDED TO PROVIDE MEDICATION MANAGEMENT. 2 DIABETES EDUCATION: PROVIDED INDIVIDUAL EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS WITH CLIENTS ON USE OF INSULIN/INSULIN PUMPS, BLOOD GLUCOSE MANAGEMENT INCLUDING USE OF CONTINUOUS GLUCOSE MONITORING EQUIPMENT AND PREVENTION OF LONG-TERM COMPLICATIONS. ALSO PROVIDED EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS FOR CHILDCARE PROVIDERS AND SCHOOL EMPLOYEES IN THE COMMUNITY, FOR SAFETY PROCEDURES FOR CHILDREN WITH TYPE 1 DIABETES. 3 B.E.T.A. TRAINED YOUNG ADULT PARAPROFESSIONALS WITH TYPE 1 DIABETES, TO BE MENTORS FOR YOUTH IN THE COMMUNITY WHO HAVE TYPE 1. ARRANGED ACTIVITIES FOR THE MENTORS TO INTERACT WITH THE MENTEES. 4.
