THE MISSION OF BLACK DOG SOLUTIONS (BDS) IS TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO SPECIALIZED MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT AND EDUCATIONAL SKILLS SERVICES FOR INDIVIDUALS, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE CONSULTATION FOR SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND RESEARCH TO SUPPORT THESE GOALS. IF THESE EXTREMELY CRITICAL, CLINICAL SERVICES CANNOT BE ACCESSED, BDS PROVIDES ACCESS, WHEN POSSIBLE, UNTIL THE INDIVIDUAL OR INSTITUTION CAN GAIN ACCESS. IF THESE EXTREMELY CRITICAL, CLINICAL SERVICES ARE NOT ACCESSIBLE BECAUSE THE SERVICE DOES NOT YET EXIST IN THE FORM THAT THE INSTITUTION OR INDIVIDUAL CAN ACCESS, THEN BDS WORKS TO DEVELOP THE SERVICES THROUGH RESEARCH AND PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT.THIS IS OUTLINED MORE COMPLETELY IN BDSS BYLAWS, UNDER SECTION 2.4:SECTION 2.4 PURPOSETHE PURPOSE OF BLACK DOG SOLUTIONS IS TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO, AND COORDINATION OF, CLINICAL AS WELL AS CONSULTATIVE SERVICES TO PARENTS, INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES; CONSULTATION, THE PROVISION, OR THE COORDINATION OF SERVICES AND EXPERTISE IN MENTAL HEALTH TO ANY EDUCATIONAL

BASIC AID SERVICES FOR THE MOST VULNERABLE STUDENTS AND TEACHERS. BDS PROVIDED DIRECT SERVICES TO HUNDREDS OF FAMILIES IN OREGON THAT COULD NOT ACCESS SPECIALIZED CLINICAL AND EDUCATIONAL EVALUATION AND CONSULTATION. BDS APPRAISED RELEVANT RESEARCH AND PLACED SYSTEMS INTO EFFECT TO COLLECT AND ANALYZE DATA WHICH RESULTED IN A PUBLICATION THAT SERVED AS THE BASIS FOR 2021S TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE THAT WAS PROVIDED TO MULTIPLE OREGON SCHOOL DISTRICTS,RESULTING IN HUNDREDS OF TEACHERS, CLASSIFIED STAFF AND ADMINISTRATORS RECEIVING TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE SUPPORTING THOUSANDS OF STUDENTS ACROSS THE STATE.SPECIALIZED MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT AND EDUCATIONAL SKILLS SERVICES FOR INDIVIDUALS, CONSULTATION FOR SCHOOLS AND RESEARCH TO SUPPORT THESE GOALS. AT BDS, ACCESS IS ADVOCACY THAT ENSURES THAT ALL CHILDREN HAVE EQUITABLE OPPORTUNITIES TO TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF THEIR EDUCATION. FOR BDS, ACCESS IS ADVOCATING FOR FAMILIES TO SCHOOLS AND/ OR INSURANCE PROVIDERS TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SERVICES OR REMOVE ANY ACTUAL OR POTENTIAL BARRIERS THAT MIGHT PREVENT SOME STUDENTS FROM EQUITABLE PARTICIPATION IN CERTAIN COURSES OR ACADEMIC PROGRAMS.
