DESIGN FORWARD ALLIANCE IGNITES CONVERSATION AND ACTION AROUND HOW HUMAN-CENTERED DESIGN CAN IMPROVE THE WAY WE LIVE, WORK AND PLAY, AND PROVIDE BUSINESSES, EDUCATORS AND GOVERNMENT WITH THE TOOLS TO AFFECT REAL AND LASTING CHANGE. THE ORGANIZATION CREATES A UNIFIED EFFORT THAT PROMOTES THE VALUE OF PROFESSIONAL DESIGN AND DESIGN THINKING FOR BETTER OUTCOMES IN BUSINESS, EDUCATION, GOVERNMENT, AND THE SAN DIEGO COMMUNITY. THE DESIGN FORWARD ALLIANCE IDENTIFIES OPPORTUNITIES AND MAKES CONNECTIONS TO WORLD-CLASS DESIGN AND DESIGNERS. DFA ADOPTED THE SAN DIEGO DESIGN WEEK ANNUAL PROGRAM IN COLLABORATION WITH THE MINGEI INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM. THIS PARTNERSHIP ALLOWS DFA TO FURTHER ITS MISSION AND PROVIDES A PLATFORM FOR OVER 150 COMMUNITY-LED EVENTS AND ACTIVATIONS.
DFA RECEIVED A 2024 WORLD DESIGN CAPITAL DISTINCTION FROM THE WORLD DESIGN ORGANIZATION.
DFA COMPLETED 4 QUARTERLY DESIGN AMBASSADOR SUMMITS. THE SUMMITS INCLUDED HUMAN CENTERED DESIGN WORKSHOPS, COMMUNITY DISCUSSIONS AND ENGAGEMENT, PANEL PRESENTATIONS FROM LOCAL DESIGN-DRIVEN PROJECTS FROM ACROSS SAN DIEGO COUNTY.
DFA CONTINUED TO DEVELOP AND SUPPORT THE WORLD DESIGN CAPITAL 2024 PROGRAM ALONG WITH ITS PARTNERS, UCSD, BURNHAM CENTER, CITY OF SAN DIEGO AND CITY OF TIJUANA. IN 2023, DFA GOING THE WORLD DESIGN ORGANIZATION.
