IN ACCORDANCE WITH COVID RESTRICTIONS, AMOC'S PRIMARY PUBLIC ACTIVITIES DURING THE 2020-2021 SEASON INCLUDED A SOCIALLY DISTANCED PRODUCTION OF NONO AT THE CLARK ART INSTITUTE IN AUGUST 2020; WEEKLY VIRTUAL PERFORMANCES AT BETH ISRAEL DEACONESS MEDICAL CENTER (BOSTON) AND CEDARS-SINAI MEDICAL CENTER (LA); AND A NEW MUSIC AND FILM COLLABORATION, GALLUP, CO-PRODUCED WITH LOS ANGELES OPERA. WHILE PUBLIC PERFORMANCE AND IN-PERSON GATHERING WERE LIMITED DURING THIS SEASON, AMOC CONTINUED TO SUPPORT THE CREATION OF NEW WORKS FOR FUTURE SEASONS, BOTH VIRTUALLY AND IN PERSON. PROJECTS IN DEVELOPMENT INCLUDED EASTMAN, A NEW PRODUCTION CONTENDING WITH THE LIFE AND WORK OF ICONOCLASTIC COMPOSER JULIUS EASTMAN; BROKEN THEATER, A NEW FILM (TO BE MADE A LIVE PRODUCTION) DIRECTED BY BOBBI JENE SMITH; AND THE NO ONE'S ROSE, AMOC'S LARGEST WORK YET, A DEVISED MUSIC-DANCE-THEATER PIECE FEATURING NEW MUSIC BY MATTHEW AUCOIN, DIRECTION BY ZACK WINOKUR, AND CHOREOGRAPHY BY BOBBI JENE SMITH. TWO OF THE PRODUCTIONS WERE DEFERRED UNTIL THE NEXT FISCAL YEAR.
