ESTABLISHED AT THE INITIATIVE OF THE ARCHBISHOP OF PARIS, FRIENDS OF NOTRE-DAME DE PARIS WORKS TO ENGAGE AMERICAN PHILANTHROPISTS IN THE RESTORATION AND REPAIR OF THE CATHEDRAL OF NOTRE-DAME DE PARIS.

FRIENDS OF NOTRE-DAME DE PARIS WORKED IN CLOSE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ETABLISSEMENT PUBLIC OF THE FRENCH MINISTRY OF CULTURE, FONDATION NOTRE-DAME, AND THE ARCHDIOCESE OF PARIS TO ENSURE THE FUNDING OF THE SAFETY PHASE OF THE RESTORATION OF THE CATHEDRAL, WHICH INCLUDED REMOVAL OF THE BURNT SCAFFOLDING OF THE SPIRE, THE PREPARATION OF THE RECONSTRUCTION ITSELF WITH THE INSTALLATION OF SCAFFOLDINGS INSIDE THE CATHEDRAL, AND THE TEST OF RESTORATION TECHNIQUES IN TWO CHAPELS OF THE AMBULATORY AND OF THE AISLE OF THE NAVE.
