MARCH FOR MOMS ASSOCIATION (THE ORGANIZATION) HELPS TO ALIGN AND COORDINATE THE EFFORTS OF FAMILIES, HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS, POLICYMAKERS AND OTHER PARTNERS WHO ARE ACTING TO ACHIEVE THE BEST POSSIBLE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF ALL MOTHERS.

SINCE 2017, MARCH FOR MOMS HAS ORGANIZED A RALLY ON THE NATIONAL MALL TO SHARE THE EXPERIENCES AND IDEAS OF THE EXTRAORDINARY PEOPLE WORKING TO PRODUCE A SAFER AND MORE EQUITABLE AMERICAN MATERNAL HEALTH SYSTEM. OUR GOAL IS TO HIGHLIGHT SOLUTIONS THAT WILL END MATERNAL MORTALITY, IMPROVE ACCESS TO HIGH QUALITY AND EQUITABLE CARE, AND BROADEN SUPPORT FOR THE CHALLENGES OF EARLY PARENTING.IN MAY 2021 MARCH FOR MOMS CONVENED A VIRTUAL TOWN HALL, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH INDUSTRY LEADERS AND PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS. MARCH FOR MOMS WAS ABLE TO REACH THOUSANDS OF AMERICAN FAMILIES WITH OUR TOWN HALL MESSAGES AND SPONSORED VIDEOS. THE GOAL REMAINED THE SAME: TO HIGHLIGHT SOLUTIONS THAT WILL END MATERNAL MORTALITY, IMPROVE ACCESS TO HIGH QUALITY AND EQUITABLE CARE, AND BROADEN SUPPORT FOR THE CHALLENGES OF EARLY PARENTING. MARCH FOR MOMS ALSO ADVOCATES FOR STATE & FEDERAL REFORMS INCLUDING: EXTENDING MEDICAID COVERAGE TO ONE YEAR POST-PARTUM FOR ALL PREGNANT WOMEN; MEDICAID COVERAGE FOR DOULA SERVICES; INTEGRATION OF PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH SCREENING AND TREATMENT; AND IMPROVED DATA, TRANSPARENCY AND QUALITY IMPROVEMENT EFFORTS FOR MATERNAL MORTALITY AND MORBIDITY. MARCH FOR MOMS ALSO HELD AN ENHANCING COMMUNITY RESILIENCE WORKSHOP TO AMPLIFY COMMUNITY-LED SOLUTIONS FROM COMMUNITY-BASED MATERNAL HEALTH ORGANIZATIONS. SPEAKERS FROM COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS AROUND THE UNITED STATES SHARED DYNAMIC PROGRAMS CENTERED ON PREPARING AND RESPONDING TO NATURAL DISASTERS TO SUPPORT MOMS, BIRTHING PEOPLE, AND THEIR FAMILIES DURING THE AFTERMATH.
