IS A CALIFORNIA NONPROFIT PUBLIC BENEFIT CORPORATION FORMED TO SUPPORT ABODE COMMUNITES, A CALIFORNIA NONPROFIT CORPORATION WHOSE MISSION IT IS TO CREATE SERVICE-ENHANCED AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND SOCIALLY-BENEFICIAL COMMUNITY FACILITIES THAT PROMOTE SOCIAL, ECONOMIC AND PHYSICAL TRANSFORMATION OF UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES.

TO FURTHER ITS MISSION AND INCREASE ITS CAPACITY TO PROVIDE SERVICES TO LOW-INCOME FAMILIES, THE ORGANIZATION GROUND LEASES A PORTION OF THAT CERTAIN TRACT OF LAND LOCATED AT 1060 EXPOSITION BLVD., LOS ANGELES, CA, WHICH IS IN A CENSUS TRACT THAT THE ORGANIZATION HAS FOUND TO BE CHARACTERIZED BY ECONOMIC DISTRESS AND INADEQUATE ACCESS TO CAPITAL. IN ORDER TO HAVE A CATALYTIC EFFECT ON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE PROPERTY AREA AND SURROUNDING LOW-INCOME COMMUNITIES, THE PROPERTY HAS BEEN DEVELOPED FOR USE (I) AS A HEALTH CENTER, WHICH PROVIDES QUALITY AND ACCESSIBLE PATIENT-CENTERED COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH SERVICES FOR LOW-INCOME INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES AND (II) AS COMMUNITY-MINDED COMMERCIAL RETAIL SPACE TO PROVIDE VALUABLE RESOURCES FOR FAMILIES RESIDING NEAR THE PROPERTY.
