THE FRED T. KOREMATSU INSTITUTE DEVELOPS PROGRAMS AND WORKS WITH SCHOOLS TO PROMOTE CIVIC ENGAGEMENT RELATING TO CIVIL LIBERTIES, RIGHTS AND ANTIBULLYING EDUCATION. THE INSTITUTE DEVELOPS EDUCATIONAL KITS TO FACILITATE THE ABOVE, WHICH INCLUDE SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES, LESSON PLANS, BIOGRAPHIES AND HISTORICAL MATERIAL FOR USE IN SCHOOLS AND OTHER VENUES. THE KOREMATSU INSTITUTE SUPPORTS POLICY AND LEGISLATION INITIATIVES TO ESTABLISH FRED KOREMATSU DAY OF CIVIL LIBERTIES AND THE CONSTITUTION IN PERPETUITY ACROSS THE NATION BY EDUCATING STATE LEGISLATURES AND GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS. THE KOREMATSU INSTITUTE EDUCATES THE GENERAL PUBLIC THROUGH THE USE OF LEGACY VOICES AT COMMUNITY AND SCHOOL EVENTS.
