OUR MISSION IS TO FOSTER INTERPERSONAL SKILLS IN YOUTH AND ADULTS RECOVERING FROM STRUGGLES SUCH AS GRIEF, ABUSE, ADDICTIONS, POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS, AND MEMORY LOSS THROUGH AN EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM CALLED DRUMBEAT, WHICH ENGAGES PARTICIPANTS WHO ARE RESISTANT TO TALK-BASED THERAPIES.

GRANT AWARDED FROM THE ORANGE COUNTY GOVERNMENT CITIZENS' COMMISSION FOR CHILDREN TO PROVIDE SMALL SCALE CITIZENS' REVIEW PANEL LIFE SKILLS TRAINING FOR YOUTH IN SUPPORT OF THE OAK RIDGE NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER FOR FAMILIES. ACROSS FIVE DIFFERENT FACILITIES OVER 242 CHILDREN WERE SERVED THROUGH 113 SESSIONS OF THE DRUMBEAT PROGRAM. 17 GRADUATIONS WERE HELD WHICH SHOWCASED THE SKILLS AND VIRTUES LEARNED BY THOSE STUDENTS. . THIS REHABILITATION PROGRAM, CALLED DRUMBEAT, IS A TEN-WEEK MUSIC AND WELLNESS COURSE UTILIZING HAND-DRUMMING.
