FLAG PLACEMENT: DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC, WE WERE UNABLE TO HAVE OUR MAIN FLAG PLACEMENT EVENT WHERE ALL THE HEADSTONES AT FORT SNELLING NATIONAL CEMETERY RECEIVE A FLAG FOR MEMORIAL DAY. FLAG PLACEMENT REQUESTS: WE OFFER A PROGRAM THROUGH OUR WEBSITE THAT ALLOWS PEOPLE WHO ARE UNABLE TO PERSONALLY VISIT THE CEMETERY TO SUBMIT A FORM WITH THEIR LOVED ONE'S INFORMATION AND GRAVESITE INFORMATION. WE THEN HAVE A PAIR OF FLAG RUNNER VOLUNTEERS GO OUT TO THE CEMETERY WITH THEIR LIST OF REQUESTS TO FULFILL AND TAKE PICTURES OF THE FLAGS AT THE HEADSTONES. THEY THEN UPLOAD IT TO OUR WEBSITE VIA A FORM WHICH AUTOMATICALLY POSTS IT TO A FEED ON OUR SITE AND ONTO OUR FACEBOOK PAGE. FOR 2020, THIS IS THE ONLY ACTIVITY WE HELD. WITH THE HELP OF ABOUT 75 VOLUNTEERS, WE FULFILLED NEARLY 1,000 FLAG PLACEMENT REQUESTS. FLAG COLLECTION: WE HAD 25 VOLUNTEERS FOR THE COLLECTION OF THE FLAGS, SOME OF WHICH WERE SORTING THE FLAGS INTO BUNDLES OF 25.
