THESE MILITARY FAMILIES ARE ELIGIBLE FOR LODGING WHILE THE VETERANS OR ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE MEMBERS ARE RECEIVING TREATMENT IN THE TEXAS MEDICAL CENTER IN HOUSTON, TX. THESE FISHER HOUSES ARE OWNED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS, WHICH IS ONLY ABLE TO PROVIDE LIMITED GOODS & SERVICES TO THESE FAMILY MEMBER GUESTS. FHFOH WORKS WITH MANAGER OF THESE HOUSES TO DETERMINE THE ADDITIONAL GOODS & SERVICES MOST BENEFICIAL TO THESE FAMILIES, WHICH COVERS A VERY BROAD RANGE & CANNOT BE DESCRIBED IN TERMS OF TRADITIONAL PROGRAMS WITH SEPARATE DESCRIPTIONS. ESSENTIALLY, FHFOH HAS ONE PROGRAM - WORKING WITH THE MANAGER TO HELP THE GUESTS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, FHFOH HAS PROVIDED A VARIETY OF GOODS AND SERVICES IN RESPONSE TO THE MANAGER'S REQUESTS. THESE GOODS & SERVICES BENEFIT VIRTUALLY ALL GUESTS OF THESE HOUSES. THE GUEST POPULATION FLUCTUATES AS THE PATIENTS ARE ADMITTED AND DISCHARGED FROM THESE VARIOUS HOSPITALS.
