THE ARTIST RESIDENCY PROGRAM PROVIDES STUDIO SPACE, AN ARTIST FEE AND SOME TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR NATIVE AND BIPOC ARTISTS LOCALLY AND NATIONALLY. NINE ARTISTS EXPERIENCED THE PROGRAM IN 2022. STUDIO SPACE IS ALSO PROVIDED FOR CREATIVE AND HEALING ART FOR AND BY NATIVE, BLACK, INDIGENOUS, AND PEOPLE OF COLOR.
SHE WHO LIVES ON THE ROAD TO WAR (SWLRW) HAD ITS PREMIERE IN 2022. THE IMMERSIVE INSTALLATION AND DANCE PERFORMANCE CREATED BY ROSY SIMAS DANSE WAS IN RESPONSE TO GLOBAL LOSS AND THE COLLECTIVE NEED TO COME TOGETHER IN PEACE AND RECONCILIATION. THERE WERE ELEVEN LIVE PERFORMANCES IN 2022 AT TWO LOCATIONS, ATTENDED BY 16,830 PEOPLE.
