IN 2021, WE HOSTED 12 BUILDING TENANT POWER WORKSHOPS, JOINED FORCES WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS TO LEAD THE STAY HOUSED, STAY HEALTHY AND HOUSE OUR NEIGHBORS COALITIONS, AND DISTRIBUTED THOUSANDS OF ESSENTIAL NEEDS ITEMS TO PEOPLE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS AND OUTREACH WORKERS. WE WORKED CLOSELY WITH COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS AND CITY COUNCILORS TO RALLY FOR SUPPORT FOR THE EVICTION MORATORIUM AND ITS EXTENSION. ORGANIZERS WORK AND CONTINUE TO DEVELOP POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS AND BUILD TRUST WITH TENANTS AROUND A COMMON STRUGGLE FOR HOUSING RIGHTS. THIS WORK IS TRANSFORMATIVE FOR RENTERS, WHO LEARN THEIR RIGHTS AND CONNECT THEIR STORIES TO A LARGER STRUGGLE FOR HOUSING ACCESS. WE MADE 200,000 MEANINGFUL POINTS OF OUTREACH TO TENANTS RECEIVING DETAILED INFORMATION ON BE:SEATTLE SERVICES, SEATTLE LAWS AND RESOURCES, AND EVICTION PREVENTION RESOURCES THROUGH DIGITAL CONTENT, PRINTED MATERIAL, OR ONE-ON-ONE CONVERSATION.
