LAVENDER RIGHTS PROJECT ELEVATES THE POWER, AUTONOMY, AND LEADERSHIP OF THE BLACK INTERSEX & GENDER DIVERSE COMMUNITY THROUGH INTERSECTIONAL LEGAL AND SOCIAL SERVICES. WE UTILIZE THE LAW AS AN ORGANIZING PRINCIPLE TO AFFIRM OUR CIVIL RIGHTS AND SELF-DETERMINATION. OUR ORGANIZATION DISRUPTS OPPRESSIVE SYSTEMS THAT TARGET BLACK GENDER DIVERSE AND INTERSEX COMMUNITIES OF COLOR AND LEAD TO DISPROPORTIONATE LEVELS OF POVERTY, HOUSING DISPARITIES, AND GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE, ESPECIALLY AMONG BLACK AND INDIGENOUS PEOPLE.

LEGAL SERVICES - PROVIDE LEGAL SERVICES FOR LGBTQ COMMUNITY AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, PRIORITIZING BLACK, GENDER DIVERSE PERSONS BUT AVAILABLE FOR ALL. PRO BONO AND SLIDING SCALE REPRESENTATION IN THE AREAS OF FAMILY LAW, EMPLOYMENT LAW, CIVIL RIGHTS, BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION, NAME AND GENDER MARKER CHANGES, AND HUMAN RESOURCES. PROVIDE LGBTQ COMPETENT LEGAL EDUCATION TO ORGANIZATIONS, COMPANIES, AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS.


BLACK TRANS TASK FORCE (BTTF) - SERVE UNDERREPRESENTED LOW-INCOME BLACK TRANS PEOPLE IN AND AROUND SEATTLE, WASHINGTON. DIRECTLY ADDRESS SYSTEMIC BIAS FACED BY MANY BLACK TRANS PEOPLE AND THE SUBSEQUENT BARRIERS TO SEEKING FINANCIAL SUPPORT


UNMET NEEDS - SERVE UNDERREPRESENTED LOW-INCOME LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL, TRANSGENDER, AND/OR QUEER/QUESTIONING (LGBTQ+) COMMUNITIES IN AND AROUND SEATTLE, WASHINGTON. DIRECTLY ADDRESS SYSTEMIC BIAS FACED BY MANY LGBTQ CRIME VICTIMS AND THE SUBSEQUENT BARRIERS TO SEEKING LEGAL SERVICES AND JUSTICE THAT THEY FACE.
