TO PRESERVE AND PERPETUATE THE NATIVE HAWAIIAN CULTURE, ITS TRADITIONS, PRACTICES AND LANGUAGE, MAUIS ENVIRONMENT AND COMMUNITYS HEALTH THROUGH EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS WHICH BENEFIT THE PEOPLE OF HAWAII.

KIMOKEO FOUNDATION DID COMMUNITY OUTREACH IN SOUTH MAUI BY HOSTING A REGULAR COMMUNITY OUTREACH BOOTH AT A LOCAL CRAFT FAIR. THE GOAL OF THE BOOTH WAS TO EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY ABOUT KIMOKEO FOUNDATION'S PURPOSE AND THE PROGRAMS THAT IT SUPPORTS. KIMOKEO FOUNDATION CONTINUED TO SUPPORT A LOCAL HAWAIIAN IMMERSION SCHOOL ON MAUI THROUGH THE PURCHASE OF EDUCATIONAL SUPPLIES, FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS.


IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, KIMOKEO FOUNDATION EXPANDED ITS COMMUNITY SUPPORT BY PARTNERING WITH OTHER LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS TO PROVIDE ESSENTIAL GOODS TO NEEDY INDIVIDUALS WITHIN MAUI COUNTY.


THROUGHOUT 2022, KIMOKEO FOUNDATION CONDUCTED NA LIKO I KA LA'I, AN OUT- OF-SCHOOL PROGRAM FOR YOUTH WHO ARE FLUENT IN HAWAIIAN LANGUAGE. THE PROGRAM EXPOSED YOUTH TO VARIOUS HAWAIIAN CULTURAL PRACTICES WHICH WERE TAUGHT BY HAWAIIAN CULTURAL PRACTITIONERS. THE ENTIRE PROGRAM WAS CONDUCTED IN THE HAWAIIAN LANGUAGE.
