ACTIVITIES FOR THE YEAR 2019 AS FOLLOWS:EDUCATION TRAINING FOR EDUCATION OFFICERS IN SINGAPORE THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY APPROACHED THE ORGANIZATION AND THE DIRECTORS AGREED TO SPONSOR TRAVEL AIRFARE EXPENSES FOR THREE STAFF MEMBERS FOR TRAINING IN SINGAPORE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:1. TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING (TVET): THE SINGAPORE EXPERIENCE (13 - 17 MAY 2019) 2. TRANSFORMING EDUCATION IN THE 21ST CENTURY (14 - 18 OCTOBER 2019)COMMUNITY SERVICE/SAGASSUM CONFERENCETHE ORGANIZATION DECIDED TO SUPPORT THE TRAVEL EXPENSE FOR A TEAM OF FOUR TO ATTEND THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SARGASSUM IN GUADELOUPE FROM OCTOBER 23-26. THIS WAS THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL TRADE SHOW AND CONFERENCE FOR SARGASSUM SEAWEED RESEARCH, MANAGEMENT, AND STAKEHOLDER GROUPS. THIS CONFERENCE AIMED TO LAY THE FOUNDATIONS FOR EFFICIENT AND PRAGMATIC COOPERATION IN ORDER TO PROVIDE FUNCTIONAL AND OPERATIONAL RESPONSES TO THE PROBLEM OF INCREASING SARGASSUM OUTBREAKS IN OUR REGION. AS WELL AS BRING TOGETHER A NETWORK OF GOVERNMENTS AND LOCAL AUTHORITIES, CIVIL SOCIETIES, COMPANIES, RESEARCHERS AND ACADEMICS TACKLING THE ISSUE. THE ORGANIZATION PAID FOR TRAVEL EXPENSES FOR THE FOUR TEAM MEMBERS IN THE FORM OF AIRFARE AND ACCOMMODATIONS.
