THE SOCIETY PROVIDES THE LEGISLATURE WITH THE SOCIETY'S VIEWPOINT ON PENDING LEGISLATION AS TO THE POTENTIAL EFFECTS ON THE VETERINARY PROFESSION, NEWS AND PUBLICATIONS, CAREER SERVICES AND ANSWERS TO MEMBERS QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PRACTICE OF VETERINARY MEDICINE UNDER NY LAW.

THE SOCIETY PROVIDES ADVOCACY ACTIVITIES TO FURTHER DEVELOP THE PRACTICE OF VETERINARY MEDICINE, SUPPORT THE ENACTMENT OF JUST AND PROPER LAWS CONCERNING VETERINARY MEDICINE AND THE VETERINARY PROFESSION, AND ACT AS THE PRIMARY ADVOCATE FOR VETERINARY SERVICES ON THE STATE AND FEDERAL LEVELS. THE SOCIETY ALSO PROVIDES SERVICES TO ITS MEMBERS WHICH WILL ASSIST THEM TO IMPROVE THE AVAILABILITY, ACCESSIBILITY AND QUALITY OF VETERINARY MEDICINE SERVICES; AND TO CONDUCT SUCH OTHER ACTIVITIES AS MAY BE APPROPRIATE AND AS ARE CONSISTENT WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE NEW YORK NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION LAW FOR NONCHARITABLE CORPORATIONS, AS NOW IN FORCE OR HEREAFTER AMENDED.
