THE COLLEGE MUSIC SOCIETY PROMOTES MUSIC TEACHING AND LEARNING, MUSICAL CREATIVITY AND EXPRESSION, RESEARCH AND DIALOGUE, AND DIVERSITY AND INTERDISCIPLINARY INTERACTION. A CONSORTIUM OF COLLEGE, CONSERVATORY, UNIVERSITY, AND INDEPENDENT MUSICIANS AND SCHOLARS INTERESTED IN ALL DISCIPLINES OF MUSIC, THE SOCIETY PROVIDES LEADERSHIP AND SERVES AS AN AGENT OF CHANGE BY ADDRESSING CONCERNS FACING MUSIC IN HIGHER EDUCATION.

PUBLICATIONS/INFORMATION-THE SOCIETY HAS SEVERAL PUBLICATIONS THAT FOSTER THE DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION CONCERNING MUSIC AND HIGHER EDUCATION. IT PUBLISHES A JOURNAL, NEWSLETTER, REPORTS, MONOGRAPHS, AND BIBLIOGRAPHIES. 15,000 ARE SERVED.


CONFERENCES-THE SOCIETY HOLDS REGIONAL, NATIONAL, AND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES TO SHARE RESEARCH AND TO DISCUSS CURRICULAR, PEDAGOGICAL, AND BROADER CULTURAL ISSUES. 2,500 ARE SERVED.


OUTREACH AND ENGAGEMENT-THE SOCIETY SPONSORS OUTREACH EFFORTS TO BRING THE MUSIC OF HIGHER EDUCATION COMMUNITY TO THE PUBLIC. 2,500 ARE SERVED.
