COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: AERO SERVES AS A STATEWIDE INFORMATION RESOURCE HUB ON SUSTAINABILITY TOPICS, PARTICULARLY THOSE RELATING TO SUSTAINABLE AND REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE PRACTICES, RENEWABLE ENERGY, RESILIENT COMMUNITY FOOD SYSTEMS, AND RELATED POLICY AND LEGISLATIVE MATTERS. AERO SHARES INFORMATION AND RESOURCES THROUGH PRINT AND DIGITAL MEDIA. IN 2021, AERO INVESTED IN EXPANDING ITS ABUNDANT MONTANA (AMT) PLATFORM INTO A DYNAMIC MARKETING AND MEDIA HUB TO BETTER EDUCATE CONSUMERS AND PROMOTE PRODUCERS AS A MEGAPHONE FOR MONTANA-GROWN FOOD.


FOOD SYSTEMS PROGRAMMING: AERO TAKES ACTION ON SOLUTIONS THAT BUILD SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY FOOD WEBS WITH CLIMATE-SMART SOLUTIONS TO CO-CREATE THE BEST FUTURE FOR MONTANANS. THE MONTANA FOOD ECONOMY INITIATIVE (MFEI) PROVIDED FUNDING AND MENTORSHIP TO 17 COMMUNITY-LED SOLUTIONS FOR BUILDING MORE RESILIENT LOCAL FOOD SYSTEMS ACROSS THE STATE. THE 21-WEEK RACIAL EQUITY IN THE FOOD SYSTEM CHALLENGE (REC) PROVIDED A VIRTUAL LEARNING FORUM TO EXPLORE RACIAL INEQUITIES IN OUR STATE. THE COTTAGE FOOD/VALUE-ADDED PRODUCER SUPPORT PROGRAM PROVIDED INFORMATION AND SUPPORT TO PRODUCERS AND FARMERS MARKETS RESPONSIVE TO MONTANAS NEW LAW, THE MONTANA LOCAL FOOD CHOICE ACT.


NETWORK WEAVING & EDUCATION: KEY TO AEROS SUCCESS IN DEVELOPING COMMUNITY LEADERS AND INSPIRING COMMUNITY MODELS FOR SUSTAINABLE, CLIMATE-SMART AGRICULTURE, FOOD SYSTEMS, AND ENERGY ACROSS THE STATE IS BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER TO LEARN FROM ONE ANOTHER THROUGH WORKSHOPS, PANEL DISCUSSIONS, WEBINARS AND COMMUNITY GATHERINGS. AEROS SECOND VIRTUAL EXPO BROUGHT PEOPLE TOGETHER FROM AROUND THE STATE FOR FIVE DAYS OF KNOWLEDGE-SHARING ON ENHANCING SMALL FARM SUCCESS, ENSURING FOOD FOR ALL MONTANANS, FOOD SYSTEMS AND SUSTAINABILITY, AND COMMUNITY FOCUSED SOLUTIONS FOR RESILIENT COMMUNITIES.
