TO PROVIDE SERVICES TO LOW INCOME INDIVIDUALS TO EMPOWER PEOPLE IN NEED THROUGH MOBILIZING AND DEVELOPING COMMUNITY RESOURCES BY CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR SUCCESS IN BIG HORN, CARBON, STILLWATER, SWEET GRASS, AND YELLOWSTONE COUNTIES.

FAMILY DEVELOPMENT - THIS SERVICE GROUP PROVIDES VARIOUS CHILD CARE SERVICES SUCH AS PROVIDER TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE; PARENT TRAINING, RESOURCE AND REFERRAL; PAYMENT ASSISTANCE; AND NUTRITIONAL TRAINING AND MEAL PAYMENT ASSISTANCE. SERVICE ESTIMATES IN UNITS OF CHILDREN -- 2,104 RECEIVED $7,817,529 OF CHILD CARE PAYMENT ASSISTANCE. ADDITIONALLY 893 PROVIDERS RECEIVED TRAINING, TWELVE PROVIDERS RECEIVED NUTRITIONAL TRAINING. CARES ACT OUT OF SCHOOL GRANTS PROVIDED $865,046 IN ASSISTANCE TO 348 FAMILIES ARPA PROVIDED HEALTH CARE SECTOR CHILD CARE PAYMENT OF $56,454 IN ASSISTANCE TO 12 FAMILIES. 58 NEW CHILD CARE PROVIDERS RECEIVED $22,275 DOLLARS TO ASSIST WITH START-UP COSTS.


ENERGY PROGRAMS - THIS SERVICE GROUP PROVIDES WEATHERIZATION, UTILITY PAYMENT ASSISTANCE AND EDUCATION TO QUALIFIED PARTICIPANTS. UTILITY ASSISTANCE CONSISTS OF : 1) ELIGIBILITY FOR MONTANA'S ENERGY SHARE PROGRAM -- APPROXIMATELY $228,152 IN UTILITIES WERE PROVIDED TO 508 HOUSEHOLDS. 2) LIEAP HEAT UTILITY PAYMENTS, ENERGY EDUCATION AND CREDIT COUNSELING, AND CRISIS INTERVENTION FOR HEATING EMERGENCIES -- APPROXIMATELY $4,781,991 IN UTILITIES WAS PAID FOR 2,772 HOUSEHOLDS AND PORTIONS OF THESE HOUSEHOLDS RECEIVED OTHER CONSERVATION SERVICES. APPROXIMATELY 3,301 HOMES RECEIVED ENERGY EDUCATION. WEATHERIZATION SERVICES INCREASED HEATING EFFICIENCY AND REDUCE UTILITY BILLS FOR LOW INCOME ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS THROUGH APPROXIMATELY $532,307 IN INSULATION; DOOR, WINDOW AND FURNACE REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT. TWELVE HOUSEHOLDS RECEIVED FURNACE REPLACEMENTS TOTALING $71,665. AN ESTIMATED 90 ELIGIBLE HOMES WERE ASSISTED.


EMERGENCY FOOD AND HOUSING - THIS SERVICE GROUP PROVIDES HOUSING, FOOD AND OTHER EMERGENCY SERVICES TO ELIGIBLE RECIPIENTS. TRANSITIONAL LIVING SERVICES HELPED HOMELESS PREGNANT AND/OR PARENTING YOUTH, AGES 18-21 INTO A SAFE LIVING ENVIRONMENT. HOUSING SERVICES CONSIST OF COUNSELING, EMERGENCY PAYMENTS, AND HOUSING PLACEMENT SERVICES TO ASSIST LOW INCOME AND HOMELESS POPULATIONS. APPROXIMATELY 278 INDIVIDUALS COMPLETED HOMEBUYER EDUCATION, 288 INDIVIDUALS RECEIVED HOMEBUYER PRE-PURCHASE COUNSELING, AND 3 INDIVIDUALS RECEIVED RENTAL COUNSELING. HOUSING PROGRAMS AIDED 125 HOUSEHOLDS IN RECEIVING SECTION 8 HOUSING VALUED AT $722,960. APPROXIMATELY 399 HOUSEHOLDS RECEIVED ASSISTANCE COMPLETING APPLICATIONS FOR THE MONTANA EMERGENCY RENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM. APPROXIMATELY $418,296 WAS PROVIDED TO 207 HOUSEHOLDS IN THE FORM OF HOUSING PAYMENTS AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO ASSIST CLIENTS IN MAINTAINING OR MOVING INTO PERMANENT HOUSING. FOURTY NINE HOUSEHOLDS RECEIVED DEPOSIT ASSISTANCE TOTALING $49,266. THE YOUTH HOMELSS DEMONSTRATION PROJECTER SERVED 14 PARTICIPANTS. THE PARTICIPANTS RECEIVED $2,531 IN DIRECT SUPPORTIVE SERVICES, $1,332 IN UTILITY PAYMENTS, $5,350 IN RENTAL DEPOSITS, AND $34,745 IN RENT PAYMENTS. HARMONY HOUSE SERVED 14 PREGNANT AND PARENTING YOUTH ALONG WITH 15 CHILDREN. THE PARTICIPANTS RECEIVED $29,014 IN DIRECT SUPPORTIVE SERVICES, $3,787 IN SECURITY DEPOSITS, AND $35,026 IN RENT PAYMENTS. FAMILY FORWARDS SERVED 70 PARTICIPANTS WHICH WERE ABLE TO OBTAIN/MAINTAIN HOUSING. FOOD ASSISTANCE IS PROVIDED THROUGH THE DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD TO ELIGIBLE FAMILIES LIVING ON THE CROW INDIAN RESERVATION. MONTHLY, FOOD COMMODITIES WERE DISTRIBUTED TO APPROXIMATELY 516 INDIVIDUALS OR 199 CROW TRIBE FAMILIES FOR A TOTAL ANNUAL VALUE OF $90,030
