CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT IN 2021, THROUGH THE RESOURCES INVESTED IN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT AND EXPANDING OUR FOOTPRINT IN UGANDA, WE PURCHASED LAND AND CONSTRUCTED HALF OF THE NEEDED FACILITIES 4 BUILDINGS AT TWO NEW PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN THE COMMUNITIES OF KABERAMAIDO AND IDUDI. WE WERE ALSO ABLE TO RENOVATE AN EXISTING BUILDING AND OPEN A NEW MEDICAL FACILITY IN THE COMMUNITY OF NAMAYEMBA, COMPLETE WITH A FUNCTIONING AMBULANCE SERVICE. THIS WAS LARGELY MADE POSSIBLE THROUGH RECEIVING A SHIPPING CONTAINER WITH BEDS AND EQUIPMENT FROM PROJECT CURE IN ORDER TO FULLY EQUIP THE HEALTH FACILITY FOR THE COMMUNITY. IN 2021, WE ALSO PURCHASED NEW LAND FOR TWO FUTURE BUSINESSES IN THE COMMUNITY OF RWANYABIHUKA.

OPERATION FUNDING DURING THE LAST TWO YEARS, UGANDA FACED ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL LOCKDOWNS, AS WELL AS THE LONGEST SCHOOL CLOSURES IN THE WORLD. BECAUSE OF THIS, WE UTILIZED OUR OPERATIONAL FUND TO HELP UPKEEP SALARIES AND KEEP STAFF PAID DURING THIS TIME. THIS FUND WAS ALSO USED TO PROVIDE START-UP OPERATIONAL FUNDING FOR THE NEW SCHOOLS AND HEALTH FACILITY.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT / RELIEF FUNDING IN 2021, WE BROUGHT A TEAM OF VOLUNTEERS FROM THE UNITED STATES TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE WORK OF ASONE IN UGANDA. THIS WAS THE FIRST FULL TEAM BACK IN UGANDA SINCE THE START OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. THROUGH THIS FUND WE WERE ALSO ABLE TO PROVIDE RELIEF FUNDING TO LOCAL SCHOOLS, HOSPITALS, AND OTHER FACILITIES IN THE AREA.
