CREATED AND DEVELOPED UNIQUE AND CULTURALLY DIVERSE LEARNING MATERIALS TO EXPOSE MINORITY MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM UNDERREPRESENTED GROUPS TO AGRICULTURAL, ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE, AND NATURAL RESOURCES RELATED CAREERS. THROUGH CULTURALLY RELEVANT DEVELOPED MATERIALS STUDENTS ARE PROVIDED WITH A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPLORE AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES, AND GAIN KNOWLEDGE ABOUT CAREERS IN ANIMAL AND PLANT DISCIPLINES, WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT, BIOTECHNOLOGY, FOOD SAFETY, FOOD PRODUCTION, AGRIBUSINESS, FORESTRY AND MUCH MORE.


CONNECTING KIDS INSIDE OUT PROGRAMS EXPANDS ACCESS OF HISTORICALLY UNDERSERVED PRODUCERS AND UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES TO CONSERVATION ASSISTANCE AND PROMOTING OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS TO PURSUE CAREERS IN AGRICULTURE, NATURAL RESOURCES, AND RELATED SCIENCES BY (1) PROMOTING AND STRENGTHENING RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN NRCS AND BLACK, INDIGENOUS, AND PEOPLE OF COLOR FARMERS AND PRODUCERS; (2) PROVIDE TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO PROMOTE CONSERVATION IN SMALL SCALE AND URBAN AGRICULTURE; (3) PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES THAT INCREASE AWARENESS OF THE INTERCONNECTEDNESS OF AGRICULTURE AND NATURAL RESOURCES.


THE TAKE 'EM FISHIN' PROGRAM IS AN ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION PROGRAM DESIGNED TO ENHANCE, DEVELOP AND PROMOTE DIVERSE HANDS-ON RECREATIONAL FISHING OPPORTUNITIES TO CONNECT MINORITY YOUTH WITH FISH, WATER AND THE GREAT OUTDOORS. THROUGH WORKSHOP SESSIONS, PANEL DISCUSSIONS, INTERACTIVE PRESENTATIONS AND FUN ACTIVITIES, YOUTH LEARN MEANINGFUL AND PRACTICAL LIFE SKILLS TO EMPOWER THEM TO ACHIEVE THEIR GREATEST POTENTIAL. ADDITIONALLY, TAKE 'EM FISHIN' PROGRAM SHOWS THAT EXPERIENCING AMERICA'S GREAT OUTDOORS IS FUN, EASY AND HEALTHY, BY ADVANCING AWARENESS AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE BENEFITS OF NATURE, BUILDING STEWARDSHIP VALUES AND ENGAGES MINORITY YOUTH AGES 6-15 IN CONSERVATION AND RECREATION.


THE LINDEN CULINARY AG ACADEMY IS A UNIQUE EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE DESIGNED TO INSPIRE CREATIVITY, CURIOSITY AND DISCOVERY IN THE WORLD OF AGRICULTURE AND CULINARY ARTS. THROUGH PROJECT-BASED LEARNING EXPERIENCES THE ACADEMY STRIVES TO DEVELOP THE NEXT GENERATION OF NATURAL RESOURCE LEADERS BY PROVIDING ACTIVITIES TO HELP THEM DISCOVER FIRSTHAND HOW CULINARY SCIENCE, AGRICULTURE, AND NATURAL RESOURCES RELATE TO THE WORLD AROUND THEM.
