GEORGETOWN VILLAGE IS A NONPROFIT MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATION PROVIDING SERVICES PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES IN THE GEORGETOWN, BURLEITH, AND NEARBY NEIGHBORHOODSSO PEOPLE 55 AND OLDER CAN REMAIN IN THEIR HOMES AND STAY CONNECTED, INVOLVED, AND ENGAGED IN THEIR NEIGHBORHOODS. AS NEIGHBORS ARE HELPED THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE IS STRENGTHENED.

GEORGETOWN VILLAGE PROVIDES ONGOING PROGRAMS SUCH AS SUPPORT GROUPS,BOOK DISCUSSION GROUPS, MONTHLY DOCENT LED TOURS AND TRIPS, ETC. MEMBERS AVOID SOCIAL ISOLATION AND DEPRESSION BY ENJOYING ACTIVITIES OFFERED BY GEORGETOWNVILLAGE INCLUDING THEATER, MUSEUM TOURS, CONCERTS, LECTURES, MOVIES AND MANYMEMBERS SOCIALIZE AT WEEKLY COFFEE GATHERINGS, HAPPY HOURS AND GROUP DINNERS. SERVICES OFFERED TO MEMBERS NOW INCLUDE INDOOR AND OUTDOOR HOME ASSISTANCE, PERFORMEDBY TRAINED, VETTED VOLUNTEERS, INCLUDING ORGANIZING AND I.T. ASSISTANCE BY VOLUNTEER HANDYMEN OR WOMEN. GEORGETOWN VILLAGE ALSO PROVIDES TRANSPORTATION TO MEDICALAPPOINTMENTS, GROCERY SHOPPING, HAIR APPOINTMENTS, FUNERALS, GEORGETOWN VILLAGEACTIVITIES AND OTHER DESTINATIONS UPON A MEMBER'S REQUEST. GEORGETOWN VILLAGENOW OFFERS ADDITIONAL HEALTHCARE SERVICES TO MEMBERS. SPECIALLY TRAINED VOLUNTEERSWILL ACCOMPANY MEMBERS TO THE DOCTORS' OFFICES TO TAKE NOTES AT MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS OR SERVE AS FRIENDLY COMPANIONS WHEN MEMBERS ARE HOSPITALIZED OR IN THE EMERGENCYROOM. GEORGETOWN VILLAGE OFFERS "BRAIN GAMES" ON A REGULAR BASIS TO HELP OURMEMBERS STRENGTHEN THEIR MEMORIES AND KEEP THEIR BRAINS SHARP AND PROVIDES FREE NOTARY SERVICES IN MEMBERS' HOMES OR THE GEORGETOWN VILLAGE OFFICE.
