THE PRIMARY MISSION OF THE CALIFORNIA LAND CONSERVANCY IS THE PRESERVATION, PROTECTION, OR ENHANCEMENT OF LAND IN ITS NATURAL, HISTORIC, AGRICULTURAL, FORESTED, OR OPEN-SPACE CONDITION OR USE.

THE ORGANIZATIONS PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS RELATED TO OTHER LANDS INCLUDE SERVING AS A FACILITATOR AND HOLDER OF MITIGATION LANDS AND CONSERVATION EASEMENTS FOR DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS, INCLUDING RESIDENTIAL, COMMERCIAL, RENEWABLE ENERGY, UTILITIES, ETC. ALSO, THE ORGANIZATION HAS FACILITATED THE ACQUISITION AND DONATION OF PRIVATE PROPERTY FOR THE PURPOSE OF MITIGATION AND CONSERVATION.


THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUED THE PRESERVATION OF THE COTTONWOOD PRESERVE. THIS INCLUDED PRESERVATION OF LANDS ON A COMBINED TOTAL OF OVER 50 ACRES, INCLUDING RESTORATION OF APPROXIMATELY 8 ACRES OF DESERT WASH SCRUB AND 20 ACRES OF NATIVE PLANT COMMUNITIES.


THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUED THE PRESERVATION OF THE WILSON CREEK CONSERVATION EASEMENT. THIS INCLUDED OVERSIGHT ON THE RELATED LANDS TO ENSURE THE PROPERTY IS PRESERVED IN ITS NATURAL, SCENIC, OPEN CONDITION TO MAINTAIN ITS ECOLOGICAL, HISTORICAL, VISUAL AND EDUCATIONAL VALUES, WHICH ARE OF IMPORTANCE TO THE PEOPLE OF RIVERSIDE COUNTY AND THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
