BPA IS ACTIVELY ENGAGED IN THE ADVOCACY OF A FEDERAL RENEWABLE ENERGY STANDARD. BPA, LIKE OTHER RENEWABLE TRADE ASSOCIATIONS, COMMUNICATES WITH CONGRESS AND THE ADMINISTRATION CONCERNING A CAP AND TRADE PROGRAM THAT RECOGNIZES THE CARBON BENEFITS OF BIOPOWER. BPA ALSO CONDUCTS OUTREACH ACTIVITIES TO MEMBERS AND POTENTIAL MEMBERS IN THE BIOMASS ENERGY INDUSTRY, MAINTAINS A WEBSITE WITH INFORMATION ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION AND THE INDUSTRY AND EDUCATES THE PUBLIC ABOUT RENEWABLE BIOMASS POWER THROUGH PUBLICATIONS, PRESENTATIONS, WEBSITE MATERIALS AND PRESS RELEASES.
