TO PROVIDE THE HIGHEST QUALITY AND MOST EFFECTIVE REPRESENTATION FOR OUR MEMBERS, AND TO ENSURE THAT THEIR INTERESTS ARE PROTECTED IN LABOR AND LEGAL MATTERS, ECONOMIC ISSUES, INSURANCE, AND OFFICER SAFETY.

Part 3 - Line 4a

LEGAL DEFENSE FUND: VCPPOA MEMBERS AR PROVIDED REPRESENTATION IN CIVIL, CRIMINAL, AND ADMINISTRATIVE DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS THROUGH PORAC LEGAL DEFENSE FUND. THE LEGAL DEFENSE FUND PAYS FOR ALL RELATED COSTS OF THE CASES THEY HANDLE.


LONG TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE: VCPPOA HAS CONTRACTED WITH THE CALIFORNIA LAW ENFORCEMENT ASSOCIATION FOR THEIR LONG TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE. 2021 IS THE FOURTH FULL YEAR UNDER THIS PROVIDER. THE ORGANIZATION REVIEWS THE LONG TERM DISABILITY COST ANNUALLY AND SHOPS FOR THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE COVERAGE FOR ITS MEMBERS AT THE MOST COST EFFECTIVE RATE.


LEGAL SERVICES: VCPPOA HAS CONTRACTED WITH THE SAME FIRM SINCE EARLY 2001 TO HANDLE ALL ASPECTS OF CONTRACT AND LABOR NEGOTIATIONS. CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS TOOK PLACE IN 2021, LEADING TO AN INCREASE IN EXPENSES FOR LEGAL FEES.
