SPONSORED D.A.R.E.(DRUG ABUSE RESISTANCE EDUCATION) PROGRAM PUT ON BY THE SANTA BARBARA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT TO LOCAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS. HUNDREDS OF FIFTH AND SIXTH GRADERS PARTICIPATED AND A RECORD NUMBER OF STUDENTS GRADUATED FROM THE PROGRAM.
SPONSORED THE PROJECT DEPUTY DOG PROGRAM TO PURCHASE AND TRAIN K-9'S FOR THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT. THEY WILL JOIN THE K-9 UNIT AND ASSIST IN BOMB DETECTION, TRACKING, AND PROTECTION.
FINANCED EQUIPMENT TO ASSIST THE SHERIFF DEPARTMENT'S FORENSIC UNIT. ALL EQUIPMENT HELPS THE LAB TECHNICIANS HANDLE EVIDENCE MORE QUICKLY AND EFFICIENTLY.
