TO PROVIDE AN ENRICHING MUSEUM EXPERIENCE BASED ON MARITIME HISTORY RANGING FROM ANCIENT MARINERS TO THE MODERN MARINE ERA, AND TO ENHANCE THE UNDERSTANDING OF OUR RICH INTERNATIONAL AND LOCAL SEAFARING HERITAGE WITH A FOCUS ON EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS.

ALTHOUGH WE WERE OPEN A LIMITED AMOUNT OF TIME IN 2021 DUE TO COVID-19, WE PROVIDED DISPLAYS AND INTERPRETATIONS OF THE EVOLUTION OF MARINE ART AND SHIPS FOR THE AGE OF SAIL THROUGH MODERN TIMES TO 10,000 VISITORS. WE UPDATED EDUCATION PROGRAMS/EXHIBITS TO COMPLEMENT CORE CURRICULUM STANDARDS FOR SOCIAL AND MARINE SCIENCE IN PREPARATION FOR POST COVID-19 SCHOOL VISITS OF 3,000 LOCAL YOUTH, MOST FUNDED THROUGH CORPORATE AND FOUNDATION DONATIONS. WE PROVIDED A VENUE FOR ART EXHIBITION FOR OVER 200 LOCAL YOUTH, AMATEUR, AND PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS. WE SERVED AS A CULTURAL HUB FOR OUR COMMUNITY, PROVIDING A CULTURAL GATHERING PLACE, FORUM FOR SPEAKERS, AND DESTINATION FOR TOURISM.
