TO ASSIST MONTEREY COUNTY'S SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT WITH PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT.

ASSISTED MONTEREY COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT WITH THE FOLLOWING: MEMBERS OF THE SHERIFF'S EMERGENCY TEAM WERE TRAINED TO ASSIST IN EMERGENCIES TO AUGMENT THE DEPUTIES OF THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT. SEARCH AND RESCUE TEAM ASSISTED ON NUMEROUS MISSIONS. SEARCH AND RESCUE TEAM ALSO RUNS A PROJECT LIFESAVER. PERSONS THAT HAVE ALZHEIMER'S OR RELATED DISORDERS PURCHASE A WRISTBAND THAT EMITS AN AUTOMATIC TRACKING SIGNAL. THE SEARCH AND RESCUE TEAM LOCATE INDIVIDUALS THAT ARE MISSING. COSTS WERE INCURRED TO FURNISH UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT FOR THESE TEAMS. EQUIPMENT WAS PURCHASED AND DONATED TO THE SHERIFF'S SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT FUND.


GANG TASK FORCE CONFERENCE HAD ABOUT 300 OFFICERS ATTENDING. THE CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS PROVIDED A VENUE WHERE PARTICIPANTS LEARN ABOUT CURRENT TRENDS, RECEIVE NEW INFORMATION IN DEALING WITH GANGS AND HAVING AN OPPORTUNITY TO NETWORK WITH OTHERS IN THIS FIELD.


WOMEN LEADERS IN LAW ENFORCEMENT CONFERENCE HAD ABOUT 900 OFFICERS ATTENDING. THE CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS PROVIDED A VENUE WHERE PARTICIPANTS LEARN ABOUT CURRENT TRENDS, RECEIVE NEW INFORMATION IN DEALING WITH GANGS AND HAVING AN OPPORTUNITY TO NETWORK WITH OTHERS IN THIS FIELD.
