GARDENS AND HISTORIC BUILDINGS - OPERATION, MAINTENANCE, PRESERVATION, AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE GARDENS AND BUILDINGS FOR THE PUBLIC'S USE AND ENJOYMENT. OPEN TO THE PUBLIC 365 DAYS A YEAR, AT NO CHARGE. AN ESTIMATED 23,000 PEOPLE VISIT THE GARDENS ANNUALLY. FORMAL GARDENS ALONG WITH WORKING BEDS USED FOR EXPERIMENTAL DEMONSTRATIONS AND DISPLAYS EDUCATE AND INFORM VISITORS ABOUT PLANTS AND PLANT CARE, AS WELL AS EFFICIENT WATER USAGE. THE 1902 EDWARDIAN ESTATE IS OPEN TO VISITORS AND ALSO AVAILABLE FOR PRIVATE RENTALS. RESTRICTIONS ON ACTIVITIES (DUE TO THE COVID PANDEMIC) WERE IMPLEMENTED IN MARCH 2020.
