OUR GOALS ARE TO PROVIDE PUBLIC SERVICES TO LOW AND VERY LOW INCOME INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN A MANNER THAT ENCOURAGES INDIVIDUAL GROWTH, SELF-SUFFICIENCY, SELF-RESPECT AND ULTIMATELY THE ECONOMIC GROWTH AND STABILITY OF OUR COMMUNITY. THEREBY, MAKING A MARK THAT CANNOT BE ERASED.

COUNSELING FOR FAMILIES AND BATTERED WOMEN: DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IS MAJOR CONTRIBUTOR TO HOMELESSNESS IN DALLAS COUNTY. WITH DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INCIDENTS ON THE RISE, WOMEN AND CHILDREN FLEEING ABUSE OFTEN FIND THEMSELVES HOMELESS AND UNPREPARED FOR SELF-SUFFICIENCY. THE METRO DALLAS POINTS OUT THAT WOMEN AND CHILDREN WHO ARE HOMELESS DUE TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ARE IN IMMEDIATE DANGER FROM THEIR ABUSERS AND HAVE UNIQUE EMOTIONAL AND SAFETY NEEDS THAT MUST BE ADDRESSED BY SPECIALIZED RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMS. PROJECT UNITED ASSISTS THESE FAMILIES WITH TRANSITIONAL HOUSING; AND WE HAVE COUNSELORS FOR THEIR EMOTIONAL NEEDS.
