THROUGH APRIL 15, 2019, COMMUNITY BLOOD CENTER OF THE CAROLINAS OPERATED BLOOD BANK FACILITIES FOR THE COLLECTION AND DISTRIBUTION OF HUMAN BLOOD AND BLOOD PRODUCTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF PATIENTS IN NORTH AND SOUTH CAROLINA. COMMUNITY BLOOD CENTER OF THE CAROLINAS WAS THE PRIMARY BLOOD SUPPLIER TO 29 OF THE REGION'S HOSPITALS, ALL NOT-FOR-PROFIT PROVIDERS.EFFECTIVE APRIL 15, 2019, THE ORGANIZATION MERGED INTO ONEBLOOD, INC., A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION IN GOOD STANDING WITH THE STATE OF FLORIDA AND RECOGNIZED AS TAX-EXEMPT BY THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE UNDER INTERNAL REVENUE CODE SECTION 501(C)(3). ONEBLOOD WILL CONTINUE THE OPERATIONS PREVIOUSLY CARRIED OUT BY COMMUNITY BLOOD CENTER OF THE CAROLINAS.
