THE PARENT TEACHER ORGANIZATION (PTO) PROVIDES SUPPORT TO THE KINDER HSPVA, A HOUSTON INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL, AS WELL AS ITS FACULTY AND STUDENTS.

Part 3 - Line 4a

HSPVA PTO OPERATES A SCHOOL STORE WHICH SELLS SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND FOOD TO STUDENTS. MORE THAN 75 PARENTS WORK AS VOLUNTEERS TO STAFF THE SCHOOL STORE. STORE REVENUES ARE USED TO PURCHASE SUPPLIES FOR CLASSROOMS AND SCHOOL ACTIVITIES.


THE PTO PROVIDES ENRICHMENT TO STUDENTS THROUGH DONATIONS FROM PARENTS AND THE COMMUNITY THROUGH THE FALL FUNDRAISER AND THROUGH PROFITS FROM THE SCHOOL STORE SALES. THE DONATIONS ARE USED TO PROVIDE SUPPORT TO ALL ACADEMIC DEPARTMENTS, TO ALL GENERAL SCHOOL NEEDS, AND TO TEACHER APPRECIATION THROUGH LUNCHEONS FOR TEACHERS.


THE PTO BLACK HISTORY, CULTURAL DIVERSITY, AND INCLUSION COMMITTEE COORDINATE AND PROVIDE VOLUNTEER SUPPORT FOR STUDENT PROGRAMMING AND ACTIVITIES RELATED TO BLACK HISTORY, CULTURAL DIVERSITY, AND INCLUSION, INCLUDING A SCHOOL MUSICAL AND KOFFEE HOUSE.
