TEXANS FOR LAWSUIT REFORM (TLR) ENGAGES IN BROAD EDUCATION OF ELECTED OFFICIALS AND THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE TEXAS CIVIL JUSTICE SYSTEM INCLUDING DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROCESSES AND THE JUDICIARY, AND ENGAGES IN LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY TO IMPROVE THE TEXAS CIVIL JUSTICE SYSTEM AND, SOMETIMES, OTHER CORE GOVERNMENTAL ISSUES SUCH AS PUBLIC EDUCATION, REGULATIONS, CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSES. SINCE TLR'S FORMATION IN 1994, TLR HAS INCREASED PUBLIC AWARENESS OF KEY ISSUES AND ADVOCATED FOR CHANGES IN LEGISLATION THAT BENEFIT ALL CITIZENS. NUMEROUS LEGAL REFORMS ADVOCATED BY TLR HAVE BEEN ENACTED AND TLR HAS ENGAGED IN PUBLIC DEBATE CONCERNING LEGAL ISSUES, HAVING GAINED RECOGNITION AS AN ORGANIZATION THAT IS A MAJOR CONTRIBUTOR TO PUBLIC POLICY DISCUSSION, FORMATION AND IMPLEMENTATION IN TEXAS.
