THE TYLER SUNRISE PAW PARK:TSR DEVELOPED AND RUNS A FOUR-ACRE FENCED DEVELOPMENT JUST OUTSIDE THE TYLER CITY LIMITS THAT IS FREE TO THE PUBLIC AND THEIR PUPS. THE PARK CONTAINS 3 INDIVIDUALLY-FENCED, GATED AREAS FOR DOG PLAY - 2 FOR LARGE DOGS AND 1 FOR SMALL DOGS. THE PARK IS SERVICED AND MAINTAINED ON A DAILY BASIS BY SUNRISE ROTARIANS. THE PARK ALSO PROVIDES A DOG WASH THAT IS RENTED OUT TO THE DOG WASH OWNER. IT IS AN ON OLD-FASHIONED TELEPHONE BOOTH-LIKE BUILDING THAT, FOR $12, PROVIDES WATER, SOAP, A HAIR DRYER, AND TREATS FOR THE PUP BEING BATHED BY ITS OWNER. THE PARK IS HIGHLY-TRAFFICKED BY OUR AREA'S DOG OWNERS.ROTARY CHRISTMAS PARADE:TSR PARNTERS WITH THE TWO OTHER TYLER ROTARY CLUBS TO MANAGE AND CONDUCT THE ANNUAL ROTARY CHRISTMAS PARADE FOR THE ENJOYMENT OF EAST TEXAS INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES.SALVATION ARMY'S ANGEL TREE PROGRAM:TSR SUPPORTS THE ANNUAL SALVATION ARMY'S ANGEL TREE PROGRAM WITH THE PURCHASE AND ASSEMBLY OF BICYCLES FOR NEEDY CHILDREN IN SMITH COUNTY.BORN TO READ:TSR MEMBERS SUPPORT BORN TO READ, AN EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE ADMINISTERED BY UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT TYLER THAT ENCOURAGES PARENTS TO READ TO THEIR YOUNG CHILDREN.EDUCATIONAL SERVICE:TSR PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIPS FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED TEENAGERS WHO LIVE IN THE JUNGLE VILLAGES OF TOLEDO DISTRICT OF BELIZE WHO QUALIFY TO ATTEND AN ACADEMIC HIGH SCHOOL.TSR SUPPORTS OUR LOCAL RADIO STATION, KTBB, WITH THEIR SCHOLASTIC SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM TO TYLER JUNIOR COLLEGE AND UT TYLER.YOUTH LEADERSHIP TRAINING:TSR SUPPORTS AND HELPS ADMINISTRATE THE RYLA PROGRAM - YOUTH LEADERSHIP TRAINING. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES A VERY SELECT GROUP OF HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS WITH A LEADERSHIP TRAINING WEEKEND (CAMP STYLE) THAT HAS PROVED OVER AND OVER AGAIN TO BE LIFE CHANGING TO THE PARTICIPANTS. TSR PAYS FOR SIX SELECT STUDENTS TO ATTEND EACH YEAR ($800 EACH). EACH YEAR OUR ROTARY DISTRICT SPONSORS 200+ STUDENTS OVER TWO WEEKEND SESSIONS. THE RYLA CAMP HAS BEEN LED BY ONE OF OUR MEMBERS FOR OVER 20 YEARS.INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN AID:TSR FUNDED EMERGENCY AID TO THE PEOPLE OF MAUI,HAWAII AS THEY REBUILT AND RECOVERED FROM DEVASTATING FLOODS TO THEIR ISLAND. INTERNAL CLUB SERVICE:TSR CONSCIENTIOUSLY FOCUSES ON THE FELLOWSHIP AND GROWTH OF STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH OUR FELLOW CLUB MEMBERS - HELPING IN TIMES OF NEED, HONORING ACHIEVEMENTS AND MILESTONES.
