Describe the Organization's Mission:

Part 3 - Line 1

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF WICHITA FALLS, INC. IS A CHRISTIAN HOUSING MINISTRY THAT WORKS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH GOD'S PEOPLE IN NEED TO BUILD DECENT, AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND REVITALIZE NEIGHBORHOODS.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF WICHITA FALLS, INC. (HFHWF) CREATES AFFORDABLE HOME OWNERSHIP BY MATCHING SITES TO FAMILIES, THEN ENGAGES THE FAMILY AND COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS TO BUILD OR REHAB THE HOME USING DONATED LABOR, MATERIALS, AND CONTRIBUTED FUNDS. IN THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2023, HFHWF BUILT AND SOLD 1 NEW HOME TO A QUALIFYING FAMILY, AND REHABILITATED AND SOLD 0 (ZERO IN FYE 6/30/23) ADDITIONAL HOMES. OVER 1261 MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY JOINED WITH HFHWF BY VOLUNTEERING THEIR TIME, AND DONATING SERVICES AND MATERIALS TO BUILD THESE HOMES. HFHWF SERVED 8 NEW FAMILY MEMBERS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR SHARING THE LOVE OF CHRIST AND WORKING TO PROVIDE DECENT AFFORDABLE HOUSING.

LONG-TERM MORTGAGE FINANCING IS THE KEY COMPONENT THAT MAKES HFHWF HOMES AFFORDABLE. HOMES ARE SOLD TO LOCAL LOW-INCOME FAMILIES THAT EARN LESS THAN 65% OF THE MEDIAN INCOME FOR WICHITA FALLS. HOMEBUYERS ARE PROVIDED WITH AN AFFORDABLE MORTGAGE BASED ON THEIR INCOME.

HFHWF OPERATES A RESTORE PROGRAM, A HOME GOODS RECYCLING AND DISCOUNT BUILDING MATERIALS STORE THAT PROVIDES A RESOURCE TO LOW-INCOME HOUSEHOLDS AS WELL AS REVENUE FOR HFHWF OPERATIONS. THIS PROGRAM INCREASES THE ASSETS AVAILABLE TO TARGETED FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES, AND INCREASES THE OPPORTUNITY FOR LOW-INCOME OWNER-OCCUPIED HOUSING MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS.
