TO PROVIDE COUNSELING, EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY TO THOSE IMPACTED BY SEXUAL ASSAULT.

COUNSELING AND CASE MANAGEMENT: DURING FY 2021 COUNSELORS OF THE TURNING POINT PROVIDED 4,555 HOURS OF COUNSELING TO 314 SURVIVORS OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE. STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS ALSO RESPONDED TO 1,400 CALLS ON THE 24/7 CRISIS HOTLINE.


COURTNEY'S SAFE PLACE: ONLY ONE OF THREE SUCH CLINICS IN THE STATE OF TEXAS. CSP IS A CLINIC DESIGNED TO PROVIDE A SAFE AND COMFORTABLE ENVIRONMENT TO CONDUCT SEXUAL ASSAULT FORENSIC EXAMS TO SURVIVORS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT. THE NURSES AND ADVOCATES AT CSP PROVIDED 159 EXAMS AND ASSISTED 204 SURVIVORS AND THEIR FAMILY AND FRIENDS. ACROSS COLLINAND DALLAS COUNTIES, THE NURSES AND ADVOCATES RESPONDED TO 580 SEXUAL ASSAULT EXAMS AND 359 MEDICAL ACCOMPANIMENT APPOINTMENTS.


ADVOCACY AND VOLUNTEERS: THE TURNING POINT STAFF TRAINED 54 INDIVIDUALS TO BE CERTIFIED ADVOCATES THROUGH THE OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL TO PROVIDE CARE AND SUPPORT TO SURVIVORS OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE. OUR ADVOCATES PROVIDE ACCOMPANIMENT AT SEXUAL ASSAULT FORENSIC EXAMS AND ASSIST IN CRISIS MANAGEMENT; PROVIDING ASSISTANCE TO 892 INDIVIDUALS AND 1,767 HOURS OF CARE AND SUPPORT.


EDUCATION AND OUTREACH: COMMITTED TO REDUCING THE PREVALENCE OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY, THE TURNING POINT'S EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS THAT ARE DESIGNED FOR SCHOOLS, FAITH-BASED ORGANIZATIONS, LAW ENFORCEMENT AND BUSINESSES ADDRESS THE EFFECTS OF BULLYING, SEXUAL HARASSMENT AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE. THE IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON THESE PROGRAMS HAS BEEN SIGNIFICANT DURING FY 2021. THE COMMITMENT OF STAFF AND COOPERATION WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING PROGRAMS, TTP HELD 49 SESSIONS REACHING 2,199 INDIVIDUALS WITH TRAINING AND EDUCATION.
