THE HELMS AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM PROVIDES BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE ON ALL DAYS DESIGNATED AS REGULAR INSTRUCTION DAYS TO PRE-K THROUGH 5TH GRADE STUDENTS. MEAL SERVICES ARE PROVIDED BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL. STUDENTS CAN CHOOSE TO PARTICIPATE IN ASSORTED ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING ART CLUB, MUSIC, SPORTS, DANCE, CRAFTING, ROBOTICS, AND CULINARY.
HELMS ELEMENTARY PTA SERVES THE ENTIRE SCHOOL COMMUNITY OF OVER 485 STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES. OUR MEMBERSHIP ROLLS INCLUDE 202 INDIVIDUALS, APPROXIMATELY 60 OF WHICH REGULARLY ATTEND MONTHLY MEETINGS AND PROVIDE FEEDBACK AND ACCOUNTABILITY TO THE ORGANIZATION. IN ADDITION, HELMS ELEMENTARY PTA PROVIDES COMMUNITY EVENTS THAT ENCOURAGE FAMILIES TO BE INVOLVED IN AND AROUND THE SCHOOL, BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS THAT RESULT IN BETTER ACADEMIC OUTCOMES. WE ENCOURAGE ADVOCACY AT THE LOCAL AND STATE LEVEL TO IMPROVE AND PROTECT PUBLIC EDUCATION AND THE IMMERSION DUAL-LANGUAGE MODEL EDUCATION CURRENTLY AND SUCCESSFULLY IMPLEMENTED AT HELMS ELEMENTARY.
HELMS ELEMENTARY PTA SERVES THE ENTIRE SCHOOL COMMUNITY OF 62 TEACHERS AND STAFF MEMBERS, AS WELL AS THEIR FAMILIES. EXAMPLES OF TEACHER SUPPORT INCLUDE STAFF APPRECIATION, STAFF HOSPITALITY, ANDTEACHER WISH LISTS.
