THE ORGANIZATION WAS FORMED FOR TWO PURPOSES; THE FIRST, TO PROVIDE A SOCIAL CLUB WHEREBY INDIVIDUALS IN THE PETROLEUM INDUSTRY CAN MEET WITH OTHER INDIVIDUALS WITH RELATED PETROLEUM INTERESTS. THE EXPENSES FROM THESE MEETINGS ARE DEFRAYED BY MEMBERSHIP DUES AND MEETING CHARGES; SUCH FUNDS MAY BE USED SOLELY FOR THE SUPPORT OF CHAPTER ACTIVITIES. MEMBERSHIP IS OPEN TO ALL IN THE PETROLEUM INDUSTRY REGARDLESS OF RACE, CREED OR COLOR. THE SECOND PURPOSE OF THIS CHAPTER IS TO PROVIDE MONIES TO QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS IN THE FORM OF COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS IN ORDER TO PROMOTE THE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY. THESE MONIES ARE RAISED THROUGH SPONSORSHIP CONTRIBUTIONS AT AN ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT, TEAM ROPING EVENT, AND SKEET SHOOT. THE SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE OF THE VICTORIA CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN PETROLEUM INSTITUE SELECTS THE SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS.
