ISSION OF ART SPARK TEXAS IS TO CHALLENGE THE PERCEPTIONS OF HOW PEOPLE CONTRIBUTE BY CREATING AN ARTS-INSPIRED INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY OF INDIVIDUALS WITH DIVERSE ABILITIES.

COMMUNITY ARTS PROVIDED WORKSHOPS, CLASSES, AND OPPORTUNITIES TO ARTISTS WITH DISABILITIES TO SELL THEIR WORK AT LOCAL AND STATEWIDE EVENTS. IN 2022-23 WE OFFERED IN-PERSON EXHIBITS AND CLASSES AT OUR NEW OFFICE LOCATION, WHILE STILL PROVIDING ARTIST WORKSHOPS VIRTUALLY. APPROXIMATELY 2,000 EMERGING AND PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS WERE OFFERED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SERVICES AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE IN VISUAL ART, PERFORMANCE, CREATIVE WRITING, DANCE, AND MEDIA. WE HOSTED OUR FIRST HOLIDAY ARTS SHOW AT OUR NEW OFFICE AND JOINED THE EAST AUSTIN GALLEY TOUR TO HOST MONTHLY EXHIBITIONS. PRODUCED SECOND SEASON OF TRUE TALES BY DISABILITY ADVOCATES PODCAST FEATURING STORIES BY PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND WITH OVER 3,500 DOWNLOADS. THE TEXAS VETERANS STRONG PROGRAM (FORMERLY DISTINGUISHED ARTIST VETERANS) CONTINUES TO SERVE OVER 700 VETERANS BY OFFERING MULTI-ARTS IN-PERSON RETREATS AND VIRTUAL CLASSES ACROSS THE STATE. WE ALSO CO-HOSTED A VIRTUAL EXHIBITION IN PARTNERSHIP WITH BHIL HAUS ARTS AND OFFERED FISCAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT TO TWO LOCAL ARTS ORGANIZATIONS.
