GULF SWIMMING (GS) PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES TO LEARN, GROW, AND STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE, DEVELOPING LEADERS THROUGH COMPETITIVE SWIMMING. ITS MOTTO IS "COMPETITIVE SWIMMING FOR ALL".

SWIMMER TRAVEL - GULF SWIMMING (GS) HAS OVER 50 MEMBER SWIMMING CLUBS. GS FUNDS SWIMMER TRAVEL TO NATIONAL LEVEL MEETS FOR SWIMMERS FROM A MEMBER CLUB. TRAVEL EXPENSES WERE PAID FOR NEARLY 600 SWIMMERS IN 2021. 257 SWIMMERS FROM GS ATTENDED THE SOUTHERN ZONE SENIOR MEET AT A COST OF 102,800, WHILE ANOTHER 23,000 ENABLED 122 SWIMMERS TO SWIM IN THE SOUTHERN ZONE SECTIONALS. 37,500 WAS SPENT TO ASSIST THE 43 SWIMMERS WHO REPRESENTED GS IN THE FUTURES CHAMPIONSHIP. IN ADDITION TO THESE THREE EVENTS, GS USED 102,000 TO FUND ANOTHER 149 SWIMMERS IN 11 OTHER NATIONAL LEVEL MEETS. SEE ALSO SCHEDULE O
TRAINING AND EDUCATION - GULF SWIMMING (GS) HOSTS CONFERENCES FOR MEMBER CLUBS, AND PARTICIPATES IN THE USA SWIMMING (USA-S) ANNUAL CONVENTION. GS HELD REGULAR GULF SWIMMING SWIMMER ATHLETE AND COACH CLINICS, AS WELL AS TRAINING CLASSES FOR THOSE OFFICIATING AT MEMBER MEETS.
SUPPORT FOR SWIMMERS AND CLUBS - IN MOST YEARS GULF SWIMMING (GS) HOLDS AN ANNUAL BANQUET TO HONOR THE SWIMMERS' ACHIEVEMENTS DURING THE PAST YEAR. THE BANQUEST WAS CANCELLED IN 2021, DUE TO CONTINUED COMPLICATIONS DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. USING THEIR OUTREACH PROGRAM, GS AIDS FAMILIES WITH THE COST OF THEIR USA SWIMMING MEMBERSHIP. IN 2021, 14 SWIMMERS FROM 9 FAMILIES QUALIFIED. DURING 2020 6 MEMBER SWIMMERS WERE EACH AWARDED A 2,000 SCHOLARSHIP. FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THE OUTREACH PROGRAM AND SCHOLARSHIPS, SEE SCHEDULE I. GS ALSO PURCHASES TIMING AND OTHER MEET EQUIPMENT. THIS IS RENTED OUT TO SUPPORT MEMBER CLUBS WHO DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO THIS EQUIPMENT.
