CHRISTUS SPOHN HSD FOUNDATION PROMOTES PHILANTHROPY AND CHARITABLE GIVING TO PROVIDE RESOURCES AND TO SUPPORT CHRISTUS HEALTH AND CHRISTUS SPOHN HEALTH SYSTEM CORPORATION.

CHRISTUS SPOHN HEALTH SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION (THE "FOUNDATION") IS A TEXAS NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION SERVING THE PHILANTHROPIC NEEDS OF CHRISTUS SPOHN HEALTH SYSTEM CORPORATION (THE "HEALTH SYSTEM"). IT IS THE FOUNDATION'S RESPONSIBILITY TO ENCOURAGE AND RECEIVE CONTRIBUTIONS FROM INDIVIDUALS, CORPORATIONS, ASSOCIATIONS, AND FOUNDATIONS. THESE CONTRIBUTIONS ARE DISTRIBUTED TO THE HEALTH SYSTEM AND ITS NON-PROFIT OSPITALS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE INTENTIONS OF THE DONORS AND WITHIN THE CONFINES OF THE FOUNDATION'S GOALS AND OBJECTIVES. ALL CONTRIBUTIONS ASSIST THE HEALTH SYSTEM IN CONTINUING TO PROVIDE HIGH QUALITY HEALTH CARE IN AREAS SUCH AS MODERNIZATION AND CONSTRUCTION IF NEEDED IN THE HOSPITAL FACILITIES, ACQUISITION OF HOSPITAL EQUIPMENT, AND OTHER SPECIAL HEALTH CARE NEEDS OF THE HEALTH SYSTEM. THE FOUNDATION PROVIDED FUNDS TO THE HEALTH SYSTEM DURING FISCAL YEAR 2020 FOR CAPITAL EQUIPMENT, MAMMOGRAM SCREENING, BREAST CANCER AWARENESS, SERVICES FOR THE MEDICALLY INDIGENT AND HOSPITAL IMPROVEMENTS. THE FOUNDATION'S SOLE CORPORATE MEMBER IS THE HEALTH SYSTEM; THE HEALTH SYSTEM'S SOLE CORPORATE MEMBER IS CHRISTUS HEALTH. CHRISTUS SPOHN HEALTH SYSTEM IS PART OF CHRISTUS HEALTH, WHICH WAS FORMED IN 1999 TO STRENGTHEN THE 153-YEAR-OLD, FAITH-BASED HEALTH CARE MINISTRIES OF THE CONGREGATIONS OF THE SISTERS OF CHARITY OF THE INCARNATE WORD OF HOUSTON AND SAN ANTONIO. FOUNDED ON THE MISSION "TO EXTEND THE HEALING MINISTRY OF JESUS CHRIST," CHRISTUS IS CHALLENGED TO REACH OUT TO, AND BEYOND, THE MORE THAN 60 COMMUNITIES WE SERVE TO HELP THOSE IN NEED. THE VISION OF CHRISTUS SPOHN HEALTH SYSTEM CORPORATION, AS A CATHOLIC, FAITH-BASED MINISTRY, IS TO BE A LEADER AND ADVOCATE IN CREATING EXEMPLARY HEALTH CARE SERVICES, PROCESSES AND STRUCTURES THAT IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF INDIVIDUALS AND OF LOCAL AND GLOBAL COMMUNITIES SO THAT ALL MAY EXPERIENCE GOD'S HEALING PRESENCE AND LOVE. CHRISTUS SPOHN HEALTH SYSTEM CORPORATION RESPONDS TO HEALTH CARE NEEDS THROUGH SERVICES PROVIDED AT CHRISTUS SPOHN HOSPITAL CORPUS CHRISTI WITH THREE CAMPUSES, THE 557-BED SHORELINE CAMPUS, THE 341-BED MEMORIAL CAMPUS AND THE 158-BED SOUTH CAMPUS, AS WELL AS CHRISTUS SPOHN HOSPITAL KLEBERG WITH 100 BEDS IN KINGSVILLE, CHRISTUS SPOHN HOSPITAL ALICE WITH 137 BEDS IN ALICE AND CHRISTUS SPOHN HOSPITAL BEEVILLE WITH 69 BEDS IN BEEVILLE. EACH OF THE FACILITIES OF CHRISTUS SPOHN HEALTH SYSTEM CORPORATION SHARE ONE OBJECTIVE - WHICH IS TO LEAD THE WAY TO A HEALTHIER COMMUNITY. THE CHRISTUS SPOHN HEALTH SYSTEM CORPORATION IS LOCATED ALONG THE LOWER TEXAS COASTAL AREA (OFTEN CALLED THE COASTAL BEND). ITS SERVICE AREA STRETCHES THROUGHOUT SOUTH TEXAS, AND IT COMPRISES OF A POPULATION OF MORE THAN 562,000 INDIVIDUALS.
