THE ANNUAL UN DAY BANQUET FEATURED AS GUEST SPEAKER ROBERT FAUCHER, DIRECTOR OF THE OFFICE OF UN POLITICAL AFFAIRS, U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT, AND HONORED GUEST CYNTHIA SHEPARD PERRY, FORMER U.S. AMBASSADOR TO BURUNDI, BOTH OF WHOM ADDRESSED STUDENTS AT UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON-DOWNTOWN, WHO PARTNERED WITH UNA-HOU TO PRESENT THE LECTURES. THE EVENT CELEBRATED THE 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE UN AND FEATURED PERFORMANCES BY MUSIC AND DANCE ENSEMBLES REPRESENTATING VARIOUS GLOBAL CULTURES. THE EVENT AIMS TO DEVELOP COLLABORATIONS AND PARTNERSHIPS BETWEEN THE UNA-HOU AND AREA INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS. IN ADDITION, THE EVENT HELPED TO RAISE FUNDS TO SUPPORT THE ONGOING OPERATION OF THE CHAPTER (OVER 200 AREA LEADERS, UNA MEMBERS, AND GUESTS ATTENDED).
