THE BROADHURST FOUNDATION IN A PRIVATE, NON-OPERATING FOUNDATION. IT ACCOMPLISHES ITS CHARITABLE PURPOSE SOLELY THROUGH A PROGRAM OF MAKING CHARITABLE GIFTS AND GRANTS AND DOES NOT CONDUCT ANY DIRECT CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES OR MAKE PROGRAM-RELATED INVESTMENTS. THE FOUNDATION MANAGER SPENDS AN AVERAGE OF 50% OF HER TIME ADMINISTERING INVESTMENTS, AND 50% ANSWERING CORRESPONDENCE, AND INVESTIGATING INSTITUTIONS THAT REQUEST FUNDING. THEREFORE, 50% OF RELATED EXPENSES HAVE BEEN ALLOCATED TO GRANT-MAKING ACTIVITIES.
