TO INFORM THE PUBLIC THE NEED FOR BRIDGE FAMILY HOMES AND IDENTIFY FAMILIES INTERESTED IN ADOPTING OR FOSTERING CHILDREN OF ALL RACES WITH SPECIAL EMPHASIS ON AFRICAN AMERICAN CHILDREN IN STATE CUSTODY.

OUR AGENCY WORKS IN COLLABORATION WITH OKLAHOMA DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICE TO RECRUIT FAMILIES FOR CHILDREN IN THE FOSTER CARE SYSTEM. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR 2020-2021 THE PROGRAM WAS IMPACTED BY THE CHALLENGES RELATED TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. ALTHOUGH RECRUITING FAMILIES WAS DIFFICULT DURING THESE UNPRECEDENTED TIMES, THE PROGRAM WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE TO RECRUIT AND PROVIDE ONGOING EDUCATIONAL, MENTAL HEALTH AND PARENTING SUPPORT TO CURRENT AND PROSPECTIVE FAMILIES. MUCH OF THE COMMUNICATION AND FACILITATION OF SERVICES WERE PERFORMED VIRTUALLY AND ACCORDING TO CDC GUIDELINES.
