THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE OKLAHOMA ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY IS TO SUPPORT THE OKLAHOMA CITY ZOOLOGICAL PARK AND ITS PROGRAMS OF EDUCATION, RECREATION, CONSERVATION AND RESEARCH. ALL OF THE PROGRAM FUNDS RAISED GO DIRECTLY TO SUPPORT EXHIBITS, ANIMAL CARE, EDUCATION PROGRAMS, CONSERVATION PROGRAMS, ZOO ENHANCEMENTS, AND ZOO FUND FOR KIDS. EACH YEAR THE OKLAHOMA ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY FUNDS SPECIAL PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS FOR THE ZOO SUCH AS THE NEW JOAN KIRKPATRICK ANIMAL HOPSITAL, VETERINARY EQUIPMENT, SCULPTURES, IMPROVEMENTS TO ANIMAL HABITATS, EXTRA FUNDS FOR ANIMAL CARE, BENCHES FOR THE PARK, FUNDING FOR THE ZOO'S CONSERVATION PROJECTS AND NEW MATERIALS FOR THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT.THE OKLAHOMA ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY ALSO PROVIDES A QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER TO THE 27,000+ HOUSEHOLD ZOOFRIENDS MEMBERS, A CALENDAR OF COLOR PHOTOS OF THE ZOO'S ANIMALS, AND MAINTAINS A FREQUENTLY UPDATED WEBSITE AND FACEBOOK FOR PUBLIC ACCESS.
